It’s Fall! Sort of…Well, I’m going to pretend it is, anyway…

I visited Everyday Mommy today and saw her beautiful new Fall header and it totally inspired me to change mine, since Fall is my absolute favorite season next to Spring. I came up with two, but I can’t decide which one I want to use…so here’s where your help comes in. Vote for your favorite below and help me out.

Option 1: (Swirly Fall Header)

Option 2: (Birdy Fall Header)

There’s a new Dot.Com in town…

Sing it with me, now! But seriously…my family has finally worn me down with their griping about how long my blog address is. (Obviously, they don’t know about their “favorites” folder and bookmarking).

So I’ve solved the problem and you can now find me at:

simplyamusingblog.com

Period. That’s all. Nothing more to say at the moment. Well, you could click over there to the right on Ab’s photo and vote for me to stay on TopMomma’s blog. There’s always that.

Help a girl stay on the the front page of TopMomma.com, won’t you? I need as many people as possible to visit me here so I can at least get a badge that I was on there for a day! lol (Really, I’m not expecting to last much longer than that, since I don’t have a lot of readers – I’m just getting to where I have a few “regulars”) So GO! You might find another mommy blogger you need to add to your blogroll. Just be sure to check me out, too! 🙂 Pwetty pwease?

This is what you click: (feel free to do this daily…lol)

WFMW – Technorati Made Easy

Ever wonder how folks get those little quick links to Technorati tags at the end of their posts? One quick and very simple way to include Technorati tags them is to use Oddiophile’s Rather Fab Technorati Bookmarklet. You can keep this bookmarklet in your “Favorites” folder – it will bring up a script box into which you can add your tags and generate the code, which you’d then paste into your blog post. (You can also set it up in your “Post Template” box under “Settings” if you use Blogger- which is what I have done. — if you want to know how to do that, just email me and I’ll walk you though it)

To get the bookmarklet, visit this page and right click the link which says “Oddiophile’s rather fab Technorati Bookmarklet”. Then click “add to favorites” or simply drag to your bookmark list.

When you use the bookmarklet, link your words with a “+” sign and don’t use spaces. Once you’ve got the script, You can also modify the bookmarklet to suit your blog’s needs, as demonstrated on my blog — I changed the words “Technorati Tags” to the color green and bolded it. This is a great tool for both Blogger and WordPress users who have no alternative method to tag their posts. It’s also a great start towards helping build traffic using Technorati, as your blog will then be associated with the tags you have used, and will become easier for readers to find.

I use Technorati tags on every post — so if you’d like to find out how they work, just click on one. You will be directed to the Technorati page to see all the bloggers who have tagged that same word.

WFMW – Redeeming your Surfing time

I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time on my computer — and anything I can do to speed up my productivity, well, as Martha would say, “It’s a good thing.” I recently discovered two new tricks to use when surfing or working on my pc and they have both saved me time, (albeit small – but hey, every little bit helps) so I thought I’d share them with you!

Surfing shortcut

Did you know that you do not need to type in www or the .com when entering a website’s URL. In the address section at the top of your web browser just enter the name of the website then hold down the CTRL key and press enter.

Open a new page without losing your place

To open a new page in your web browser without closing your current page, hold the Ctrl key and press N. (This is especially helpful when you have several screens open and need to google something without backtracking or minimizing your open windows so you can open another.)

Okay, now try them…you know you want to!

As an ADDED BONUS!!! Did you know that if your dishwasher has stains inside, you can put some Tang where the detergent goes and the inside of your dishwasher will be as good as new? Kinda scary, huh? Wonder what it does to OUR insides? Hmm….
