Behind the Blog

Tuesday on Behind the Blog – BooMama

I couldn’t let the day go by without reminding you to join Melanie and I for tomorrow’s edition of Behind the Blog, where we’ll have Sophie from BooMama as our guest.

We’ll be discussing how to find your bloggy voice, a topic she recently presented at the SheSpeaks conference, as well as a myriad of other interesting bloggy-related items. (Word has it she’s got some ideas about the how-to’s and how-not-to’s of ‘blog pimping’).

At some point, we may even discuss fried chicken or cheese. You never know with us. Melanie is the consummate professional, while I’m more like the trained monkey.

We’d love for you to be a part – it begins at 12pm central standard time on Tuesday, August 5th. I encourage you to sign up for a free Blog Talk Radio account then join us at Behind the Blog.

You can call in to ask Sophie questions (347)-826-7594 or join us in the chat room and submit questions there. You can even email us @ if you would like to presubmit questions for us to ask her!

See you tomorrow on Behind the Blog: You’ve Got Questions, We’ve Got Answers!

Behind the Blog: BlogHer Recap

Don’t forget that today on Behind the Blog: You’ve got Questions, We’ve Got Answers, we’ll be recapping the best of BlogHer with my co-host Melanie from Blogging Basics 101 (and yesterdays phenomenally busy Bloggy Giveaways) and Shannon from Rocks in My Dryer.

We’ll be disussing some of the panels they attended and giving out the URLS that you can go to in order to find the information you need to take your blog to the next level.

The show begins at 12pm central and can be found by clicking on our BTB button up above. You may participate in our live chat or call in once the phone number is announced – as it is a live call in show. I’ve seen ya’ll in the chat room – so don’t be shy about calling in if you have a question – this is all about taking it up a notch. Or, if you prefer the social networking aspect, you can just hang with us in the chat room too. 🙂

Next week, we’ll be talking with Sophie from BooMama about “Finding Your Bloggy Voice”, a topic she recently covered at the SheSpeaks Conference. Of course, there will also be an opportunity for y’all to call in and ask her questions as well – so don’t be shy!

Newest Behind the Blog: Special Guest Shannon From Rocks in My Dryer

Well, If you missed today’s show, all I can say is – I’m so sorry. We had a blast with Shannon from Rocks in My Dryer, even though Blog Talk Radio’s growing pains (ie technical difficulties) plagued us again.

The chat room was full and we would have loved it if you could have been there – everyone was commenting that it seemed so comfortable – almost like sitting with friends over coffee. We cracked jokes and there were even some requests that I show up Pioneer Woman by doing my own Ethel Merman impression – you’ll have to listen to find out if I did it or not!

There are a few places where the player will go silent like the show is over, but wait until the final final sign off – trust me, that’s the only way you’ll get to hear me singing. 🙂

Join us next Tuesday 8/22 at 12 noon central for our next show – Melanie will be back from BlogHer with a TON of helpful advice for taking your blog to the next level. And don’t be shy about calling in – you’re among friends here!

You can listen to today’s show by hitting the “Play” button on the player above. If you’d like to listen to last week’s show, you can do so by visiting our Behind the Blog page and listening to our TEST show in the archives.

Listen to Behind the Blog: You’ve got Questions, We’ve Got Answers

Melanie (Chilihead from Bloggy Giveaways, Blogging Basics 101 and Don’t Try This at Home) and I had our First test show for “Behind the Blog: You’ve Got Questions, We’ve Got Answers!” this past Tuesday. On a whim, we twittered it and got about 10 ladies to join us for our first show to help us work out the bugs.

So grab a cup of coffee and come back and give us a listen – in this episode, we interview each other. Next week, we’ll have either Sophie (BooMama) or Shannon (Rocks In My Dryer) as our special guest and you’ll be able to call in live during the show and chat with us – or you can chat in our online chat room. The show will start with a 30-second to 1-minute ad – so hang with us through that – we’re right after the intro. (Also, if you are in a hurry, you can listen for 4 minutes and it counts towards our subscriber numbers – you can download it to your itunes and listen to it later if you’d like!)

If this week’s show was any indication, you’re in for a treat – the ladies that joined us were a blast and we are looking forward to many more shows to come!

WFMW – Having Your Say

One of the things that I have always loved about blogging is the interaction between writer and reader. There’s more than one way to communicate in this age of digital media – and blogging is by far one of the easiest to master. You can have your say every day, but we all know that the most immediate reward that comes from blogging is readership and comments – would you like to know how to get more? I thought so.

I have teamed up with Melanie (Chilihead) from Don’t Try This at Home, Blogging Basics 101 and Bloggy Giveaways to produce a weekly radio show called “Behind the Blog: You’ve got Questions, We’ve got Answers” that will take you, the listener, behind the scenes of some of your favorite bloggers who have seen some measure of success.

We will be covering every aspect of blogging and featuring a variety of bloggers from every genre to teach you some of the secrets to having a successful blog, as well as giving access for you to call in or chat live with your peers and our guests.

We had our test show today, and despite a few technical glitches, it was a blast and we can’t wait until our show next week when we “go live”. We’d love for you to join us and have your say and learn a thing or two along the way – because in the world of blogging, I think that is what really works for most of us!

Subscribe to my feed reader if you’re interested in joining us – more details will be forthcoming this week, along with who our surprise guest is! Trust me, the feedback that we received from the bloggers who were with us today tells me that this is something you do NOT want to miss out on!

So have your say and learn something new – that’s what works for me!

For more works for me Wednesday tips, head on over to Shannon’s @ Rocks in My Dryer.

Oh, and feel free to grab our button off the sidebar and help us promote the new show – we’d really appreciate it!
