Hi there, y’all.

My name is Karen and this is the place where I tell you a little bit about me.

For starters, you should know that I believe in self-deprecating humor, always wearing clean underwear, and looking on the bright side. I’m a happily married Christian mom of three and I have been  homeschooling my kids for three 8 years. I am also a Preacher’s wife. I tend to be somewhat melodramatic and prone to over-exaggeration. Just a little, though. But seriously – there are days when my flesh just wants to stay in bed, I don’t feel like homeschooling, and I don’t feel like much of  a Preacher’s wife.

The name of my blog is almost always misread, and that’s somewhat intentional. It was meant to be read as “simply…a musing blog”, but most people read it as “simply amusing” and leave out the blog entirely. Which is really sort of prophetic, don’t you think?

I started blogging on (don’t laugh at me) Yahoo back in 2004, and after a year, moved to blogger because I wanted to have some sort of creative outlet. A place to post my day to day musings and scrapbooking pages. The only problem is that I never could find the time to do any scrapbooking pages, so it evolved rather quickly into my daily brain dump. A shelter in the time of homeschooling storm, if you will.

This blog has evolved from its original state — from a daily brain dump of my musings to a place where I feel led to share my faith and experiences with others. I want to be transparent here and at the same time hopefully, encourage and inspire other women to follow the Christ of the Bible. But more often than that? I just whine while trying to remember to look on the bright side, or at the very least, polish the dull side of life.

I own a small  web and graphic design business called  Simply Amusing Designs. I have partnered with some amazing women to cover any blog or website need you might have as a mom, entrepreneur, author, or social media fanatic. You should go there sometime if you need help with social media, SEO, web design, graphic design, or blog design. Or even if you don’t need those things. Because then you could recommend me to your friends. And they could recommend me to their friends. And..well, you get the idea.

So please have a look around my blog. I’ve labeled posts by category, as well as filed them away by month and year. So feel free to poke around and read whatever interests you. I’ll even let you leave comments, because I read every one of them and they make me oh-so-happy.
