Uh…about that post?

Did I say that I’d have a real post up later today?

Huh. A funny thing happened on the way to that post…life.

My husband invited company over for dinner tonight (love you honey) and so instead of finishing my post and getting this giveaway ready, I was scrubbing toilets and making dinner most of the day…only not at the same time, because that would be gross.

So I’ll leave you with this story I received today – I have no idea whether it’s true or not, couldn’t locate it on snopes.com, but it was nice anway. One of those really feel-good kind of stories that you HOPE is true, know what I mean? It’s true! Thanks to Crazy Daisy for doing all the legwork on this one!

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing … and the traditional caps, they looked almost … as grown up as they felt.

Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.

This class would NOT pray during the commencements—-not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling.

They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentione divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.

The speeches were nice, but they were routine…..until the final speech received a standing ovation.

A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.

All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!

The student on stage simply looked at the audience and said, ‘GOD BLESS YOU, each and every one of you!’ And he walked off stage…

The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God’s blessing on their future with or without the court’s approval.

Happy Monday Morning (alternate title "Oklahoma!" bound)

Oh, what a beautiful Mornin’
Oh, what a beautiful day.
I’ve got a beautiful feelin’
Everything’s goin’ my way.

(I just love me some Rogers and Hammerstein.)

The sun is up and so am I. Today my eldest daughter goes to church camp for the next week in Oklahoma. I spent last night in a sewing frenzy, making her more culottes to go with the three pair I made earlier this week. What are culottes? Here’s some I’ve made in the past. Or this bunch here. She has three camps to go to this summer, but this one is the most expensive at $110 – which is really cheap, if you ask me. She has been in a candle-selling frenzy for the last two months getting ready for all of her trips. Got the all-important bathing suit on Saturday at Old Navy, so she’s all set.

Oh my gosh! Look at the time! I’ve got to take her to the Church now! I’ll take photos and be back. Oh yes, I will.

As promised, I’m back! (with photos) The great thing about blogging is that you never even had to know I left, but I did. Here are a few snapshots of my girl…going into 6th grade next year (gasp!) – where DOES the time go? It seems like just yesterday she was learning to crawl, and today I wake up to find she has grown wings and is ready to fly on her own for the week.

This is our wonderfully energetic and young youth pastor (his wife is inside their little house behind the van trying not to curse, because it would seem that he’s not a packer and miscalculated the amount of items he’d need to take for a week, so she’s frantically packing things like…well, you know…underwear and toothbrushes):

This is the van fully loaded. Oh wait! We forgot the cooler. Guess it’s going to have to go between the front seats. Wait a minute…how’s he going to see out the back???

There, that’s better. Now I can see a few of the kids who’ve already claimed their seats, my girl choosing to plant herself right smack dab in the middle of the fun:

Mystery Photo #5 Revealed

Congratulations to Jeni for being the first person to correctly identify the photo! You get no prize, but you get my never-ending admiration and some linky love. How’s that? :)There were several of you who guessed correctly after Jeni…and I have to say my hat’s off to you. I thought it would be fairly easy, but then again, I always think that because I know what the stink it is. And just so you know, I totally see Winnie the Pooh in there, too.

Bible Verse for the Day

A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. ~Ecclesiastes 10:19

Money has been given a voice to speak in the area of our bills and obligations. Without this voice you and I will be rendered speechless and at the mercy of creditors in critical areas of life.

Money is a vehicle – it is important that we never regard money as an end in and of itself. Rather, it is to be viewed as a vehicle to get us to a greater end. Your finances is the vehicle through which you will be able to bless others, help the needy, take care of your family, advance the Kingdom of God and ultimately make the world a better place.

All that being said, I sure could use more of it, how about you?
